Entirely handmade in Italy in the oldest glove workshop in Naples founded in 1923, only 10 years before the first race!

Inspired by this 1933 photo where Georges Détré proudly poses in front of his victorious Potez 53 of the 1933 edition, we propose this series of leather gloves made in an artisanal way and subject to 25 different operations, from the cut to the finishing. The unique suppleness of these gloves means that they will mold to the hand of their owner over time. The cashmere used for the lining is densely woven for maximum warmth and durability.

Gloves 100% full grain soft lambskin leather.

Cashmere lining.

Colors: Brown

Created in 1933 at the initiative of Suzanne Deutsch de la Meurthe and the Aero-Club of France, the third Deutsch Cup is a pure speed race reserved to the aircraft of a cylinder capacity lower than 8 liters, the goal, to improve the aeronautical techniques by pushing back the limits of the aerodynamics and by improving the performances of the engines.

The course imposed for this event consists in carrying out 20 laps of a 100 km circuit having for starting and arrival points the airfield of Etampes and passing by Chartres and Dammarie, that is to say 2000km with a refuelling at the end of the course.

1933

On May 29, 1933, in the early morning, the planes were ready for this first race. Potez lined up two identical planes, powered by 250 hp engines, while Farman presented two different planes, one powered by a 400 hp Farman, the other by a 170 hp Renault Bengali, and finally Caudron equipped with a Renault Bengali engine and piloted by Delmotte.

Only three aircraft finally succeeded in running the event from start to finish. The Potez 53 flown by Georges Detré was ranked first with an average speed of 322.800 km/h, compared to 317 km/h for Delmotte's Caudron, which took second place. The Comper "Swift" came a long way behind, with an average speed of 240 km/h.

1934

The second edition of the Cup, which took place on May 27, 1934, allowed Caudron to take its revenge: out of thirteen aircraft, four of which were foreigners, only three finished the course, all three designed by the firm's great engineer, Marcel Riffard. The winner was Maurice Arnoux, on a Caudron C-450 with a 310 hp Renault Bengali engine.

1935

For the third event, which took place on May 19 of the following year, the competition was even more fierce between the five qualified aircraft, all of which were produced by Caudron. This time, Delmotte won the race with his 330 hp Renault C-460 at an average speed of 444 km/h. As stipulated in the rules, the third Deutsch Cup went to the Aéro-Club de France, as the flying club of the winning country.
