The Breguet 19 T.F. Super Bidon, better known under its nickname of Question Mark, was one of the most important actors of the conquest of the air in the 20th century.

The first flight of the aircraft took place on July 23, 1928 as the third and last Breguet 19 T.R. (for transatlantic) with Hispano engine. Its transformation into a "Super Bidon" came later, during a construction project involving many modifications: increase of the two wingspans and the distance between planes, change of the mature, lengthening of the fuselage, increased fuel capacity.

Paris-Tsitsihar-Hanoï-Paris

Costes and Bellonte finished their raid Paris-Tsitsihar-Hanoi-Paris of 24 275 km on November 21, 1929. This raid started on September 27 with a non-stop flight of 7,905 km which set a new world record for distance. The same pilots set the new world record for distance in a closed circuit flight by covering 8,026.800 kilometers in 52 hours and 40 minutes of flight, on the same now famous plane, the question mark.

The first east-west Atlantic crossing

In 1930, Costes and Bellonte became the first to fly from Paris to New York, crossing the Atlantic from East to West in over 37 hours. Costes and Bellonte took off from Le Bourget on September 1, 1930 at 10:58 am. After a crossing marked by exceptional east winds, the Point d'Interrogation landed at Curtiss Field on September 3 after 37 hours and 12 minutes of flight. Among the 25,000 people who welcomed them, Charles Lindbergh was the first to congratulate them.
